An excellent resource for beginners - I bought my underwater camera kit from an advert in Underwater photographer.

I am an absolute novice when it comes to underwater photography, but have recently bought a digital camera and underwater housing. I have downloaded all past UWP and finding it very helpful in perfecting my techniques..

One of the things I love about the mag is the no BS attitude. I get the feeling that even the ads can be believed because they wouldn't be allowed in otherwise. Of course I know bills have to be paid but you know what the US magazines are like! I no longer subscribe to any of them or read them online except for Dive Training. Another thing I like about UWP is I feel treated like an adult. Please tell Peter I appreciate both!

I just came across your website now and am downloading issue #17 because of the article on Olympus 5060. I am in the market to purchase a digital underwater camera within 30-45 days and am researching different possibilities. Any advice? budget approx 1000usd-1500usd for camera, housing strobe.I like macro a lot but would also like decent wideangle. So far your magazine looks great!!!! Great idea ( web magazine )!!!

Loyal Readers CHOOSE UwP

Over 33,000 readers CHOOSE to read UwP.
(as of Oct 10, 2004)

Why do we think that is a good number?

Some publications report large mailing lists, a large number of visitors to their web site or large numbers of paper or CD issues distributed. How many of those actually choose to read the email or the publication?

UwP is distributed via the web. Since April 4 2003 we have set up this web site to count unique, individual visitors who download an issue.

We set a cookie (used only for identifying each unique computer which downloads issues) .. and only count them once.

We report with certainty that since we began marketing UwP in August 2003, at least 33,000 different web site visitors downloaded over 155,000 copies of UwP....

As with hard copy publications, we can only guess how many additional readers bypassed our download page to get an issue, received UwP issues in an email or on a CD, or shared one copy on a single computer.

I have read every copy of UWP to date - it just keeps getting better. What a thrill to find the new website. It's bright, informative and attractive - just like the magazine it represents. Kudos to Peter Rowlands and everyone else involved.

I am an experienced diver (almost 40 yrs., since I was 9), but new to photography. Tips to get me started would be helpful. I have been renting film cameras, but am fixing to purchase a Sealife DC250 digital with most accessories. This is the direction I am interested in for "how to" tips. Thanks! I'm glad I found you guys.

UwP is an online magazine. We must have standards that keep the file size of each issue as low as possible. Ads in PDF formats can be indexed by both internal and external search engines.

We prefer ads sent as a PDF document. If you are not familiar with the creation of PDF files for use by a publisher, please inquire for support before building your ad.

jpg files are acceptable for any size ad, but cannot be indexed. Small print in jpg ads may not be readable.

BE SURE TO INCLUDE on your ad:

  • your web site address, underlined
  • your email address, underlined
  • telephone & fax numbers
  • any info of specific interest to uw photographers, packages, facilities, products, etc.
  • send a small logo & description of your business for use on uwpmag.com
